Thief Club – Chicago

Started as a music outlet for Nick Thompson all the way back in 2013, this track is the first release from the very first album released…in February 2020. I wish the recording quality was a bit higher, but for a self produced, mixed, and mastered track, it’s not too bad. Overall a good solid pop punk sound and quite catchy. Looking forward to more!

ROAM – Playing Fiction

These newcomers from the UK are starting to headline the revival of the pop/punk scene across the pond. This track is a good highlight of their style with multiple singers and an attitude reminiscent of early Blink.

With Confidence – Better Weather

This newest album by relative newcomers to the pop/punk scene from Australia is really really good. I listed the album “Better Weather” instead of individual tracks as, despite listening to the album for weeks, I still haven’t figured out my favorite track. I’d also be doing the rest of the album a disservice by only recognizing one song. I’ve still only posted two of the tracks below, but if you enjoy the two, you’ll find a whole lot more where they came from.

A Day To Remember – It It Means A Lot To You

Not sure how this gem of a song missed me when it came out in 2009. I probably overlooked it as I thought the band was a bit too metal core (too much screaming) for my taste. Granted a lot of their songs fit that description, but I’ve started looking through their discography again and I really missed out on some great songs. The best of which is their equivalent to the Green Day track: “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” by which I mean that the solo acoustic track that doesn’t really fit the rest of the album and subsequently hidden at the back of the record turns into the biggest single.

One Ok Rock – Taking Off

Well, a new album is soon to be released for my favorite Japanese rock band, and they’ve released their first single… It also looks like I’m not the only one in the USA that has taken notice of these guys. The record label Fueled By Ramen who’s previous artists include: Paramore, Panic at the Disco, and Fall Out Boy have scooped them up for an English release and if this first single is an example of what’s to come I’m excited. It’s certainly a bit more pop than they’ve released in the past but I think they still maintain their sound whilst adding catchiness for a potentially big new audience!

Neck Deep – Can’t Kick Up The Roots

I already posted the first track I heard from this Welsh band, but this next track is their most popular track (recently). If you haven’t checked them out yet you should, I’m definitely a fan. At the bottom is their currently most popular song, a great acoustic track from 3 years ago called ‘A Part of Me’ feat. Laura Whiteside.

Neck Deep – Gold Steps

The Welsh version of Sum 41. I honestly mean that in a complimentary way. This whole album is quite good, so I’m posting the first song I found from them which made me do a little more searching. I hope you’ll do the same.
